Golden Retriever:
The golden retriever is a friendly, reliable, trustworthy sporting dog. The physical and mental traits that make it a useful hunting companion also make it a versatile dog for other activities such as obedience, tracking, show, guide and assistance, or search and rescue.
The golden, an athletic dog that is eager to please makes for a great family pet. It has a calm, sensible temperment that is alert and self-confident.
We show our goldens in conformation competition as well as take them in the field. Since it is such a popular breed, we are very careful in our breeding program, looking to improve any health concerns within the breed.
This breed was originally developed in Scotland, at "Guisachan", near Glen Afric, the highland estate of Sir Dudley Majoribanks. Golden Retrievers were first accepted for registration by the The Kennel Club of England in 1903, as 'Flat Coats - Golden'.
